A Celebrated Experience · Safety Beach

Safety Beach Sailing Club

The whole of the bay, right outside the glass.

The Space

A relaxed, light-filled clubhouse right on the Safety Beach foreshore — room for the service, the gathering and almost 150 guests, with Dromana Bay filling every window.

Mornington Peninsula

Safety Beach Sailing Club clubhouse on the foreshore, seen across calm water from the beach

The clubhouse sits directly on the foreshore, at the entrance to Martha Cove.

Between Arthurs Seat and the bay

Safety Beach Sailing Club sits right on the foreshore at the entrance to Martha Cove, with Arthurs Seat rising behind and Dromana Bay stretching out in front. The club has been part of this coast since 1967, and its renewed clubhouse gives the whole upper floor to the day — a bright room behind full-length glass, a deck that wraps toward the water, and the unhurried feel of a place where people have always come together. Guests arrive off Marine Drive, park by the foreshore and take the lift or stairs up. From there, the water is company for the whole of the day.

The spaces

Room to gather, indoors and out

Wicker coffin with native flowers before floor-to-ceiling windows, the breakwater and beacon beyond

The function room

A bright upstairs room with a wall of glass framing the bay and a fireplace at its head. It seats up to 145 for the service, with room to stand at the back, and resets easily into a relaxed space for the gathering that follows.

Open partition joining the function room and refreshment room, with cafe tables by the windows

The refreshment area

Beside the main room, behind its own partition, refreshments are set quietly while the service is underway. Afterwards the partition opens and the two rooms become one — the gathering simply begins, without moving anyone anywhere.

Timber balcony deck with wire balustrade running outside the glass doors, above the beach

The wrap-around deck

Off the main room, a generous north-facing deck wraps toward the water, partly sheltered so the outlook holds whatever the weather. Guests drift out with a cup of tea to watch the boats slip through to the marina, and to take in the air.

Clubhouse bar with timber counter, open shelving and banquette seating in a quiet corner

The bar

A few steps from the main room, the bar looks after the gathering — and offers a quieter corner for anyone who needs a moment to themselves before rejoining the room.

At the water's edge

From the deck, nothing but the bay — the boats, the long horizon, and the light coming off the water.

A Celebrated Experience

A farewell with more of them in it

Some lives call for a farewell with a little more room in it — a place that meant something, the music they loved, the long afternoon that does them justice. A Celebrated farewell gives you that scope: a distinctive setting of your choosing, a fuller selection to draw from, and the freedom to shape the day around the person — held with the same care we bring to every family, and the same clear, published pricing.

A place with character

A distinctive setting, chosen for the person and the day — vineyards, gardens, rooms by the water — with room to move through, indoors and out.

Room to personalise

A fuller selection of coffins, flowers and details, and the freedom to shape the readings, music and gathering around them.

Someone beside you

A dedicated arranger to help you bring a more involved day together, with the same care from the first call to the last goodbye.
