We set up at Mornington Community House — and, more and more, at community houses and halls across Melbourne — with tea, coffee, something to make or someone worth hearing. It isn't a bereavement group and there's no sales pitch. It's a chance to meet the people behind Candour before you ever need them, and a good excuse to meet your neighbours.

Candle making with Moya
Moya from Fenix Candles had us pouring soy wax into teacups and vintage jugs. Everyone went home with a candle and a new skill.
Biggest Morning Tea: junk journalling with Rondelle
We hosted Cancer Council's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, and Rondelle showed us how to turn paper scraps, pressed flowers and old maps into keepsake journals.
Singer Grace Laing filled the community house with song — the kind of morning people talk about for months.
Christmas centrepieces with Debbie
Debbie brought the baubles, tinsel and wire; we brought the morning tea. Every table went home dressed for Christmas.

Gardening and biodiversity with Naturelinks, a musical theatre morning with international star Kerrie Anne Greenland, wreath making, guest speakers — the program changes every time. Got an idea for a session? We'd love to hear it.
In August a convoy of decorated old cars set off from Halls Gap in the Grampians and drove ten days west to Exmouth in Western Australia — all to raise money for Variety Victoria, the children's charity that supports Victorian kids living with disability, illness or disadvantage.
Candour sponsored one of the cars. Between them, the 2026 Bash crews raised more than $2.6 million for Victorian kids.

Clean Up Australia Day, Mt Martha
Every year the team pulls on the gloves for Clean Up Australia Day at Mt Martha. A few hours, a lot of bags, and a coffee after.
Christmas trees for aged care
Each December we deliver real Christmas trees to local aged care and retirement homes, and collect them again when the season's done. The whole place smells like Christmas.
Live music in aged care
We arrange for singers like Grace Laing to perform at aged care homes as part of their lifestyle and wellbeing programs. A familiar song does more than most things we could bring.
On the airwaves
You'll hear us on 3MP and JOY 94.9, where we advertise and make podcasts — and we're always up for a catch-up with our favourite producers.
