What's included in the price?
Everything. Every coffin and casket we offer comes fully trimmed — handles, premium linen lining and pillow are all included. The price you see is the complete price, including GST. Nothing is added later.
Can a coffin or casket be made in a more generous size?
Yes. Coffins and caskets can be made to a more generous size when needed, with a single flat charge for the additional materials. Just speak with our team and we'll arrange it quietly.
How long do we have to decide?
Each coffin and casket is handmade for the family who chooses it — nearly all of them here in Victoria. We'll always give you as much time as we can, and our team will guide the timing with you gently.
Are these made to order?
Yes — every coffin and casket is made to order for the family who chooses it, rather than held in a warehouse. It's one of the ways we keep our costs down, and that saving is passed on to you. Your funeral director will confirm every detail of your choice with you, and what you choose here is exactly what your family receives.
What's the difference between a coffin and a casket?
A coffin is gently shaped — wider at the shoulders, tapering toward the feet. A casket is rectangular, with straight sides. Neither is more right than the other; it's simply a matter of feeling.
Can we choose any coffin with any Candour service?
Yes — every coffin and casket in our range is available with any Candour service, with one exception: the Concierge Collection is reserved for our Concierge Farewell.
Which options suit a natural burial?
Everything in our Natural & Sustainable collection — including the Woven Wicker, the Natural Legacy wool coffin and the Natural Shroud — is fully biodegradable and suited to natural burial. Our Natural Burial page tells the fuller story.
