Do we have to choose a venue from this page?

No. These are places we know well and can vouch for — but Candour holds farewells almost anywhere across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. If somewhere else matters to you, start there and we'll make it work.

Is venue hire extra?

Venue hire is the one cost that belongs to the venue rather than to us, so it's passed on exactly at cost — we never add a mark-up. Hire fees vary more than most families expect, from modest community halls to private estates, and you'll see the figure in writing before anything is agreed. Tell us what you'd like to spend and the kind of place that feels like them, and we'll help you find a venue that honours both.

Can the service and the burial or cremation happen in one place?

At Melbourne's memorial parks, yes — the chapel, the gardens and the resting place share the same grounds, which many families find gentler on the day. Every location page notes what's possible on site.

How quickly can a location be arranged?

Usually within a day of your first call we can tell you which locations are available and when. Most farewells are then held within one to two weeks — and when timing matters, sooner is almost always possible. Tell us what you're hoping for and we'll shape everything around it.

Access and parking are listed on every location page, and we'll always talk you through what to expect before the day.
