About this venue

The Atrium is the youngest room in Springvale's chapel building, and it wears its history well. It began as the open courtyard between the two 1930s chapels, was later enclosed and served for years as the refreshment rooms — and has now been given a new life for today's families. A soaring pitched glass roof pours daylight down over timber-lined walls and a warm timber floor, and the feeling is calm, contemporary and unforced. Chairs rather than pews mean the room can be arranged to suit your family, with a large screen, microphones and live streaming built in, so anyone who can't travel can still be part of the day. It seats up to 100 guests for a funeral, memorial service or celebration of life, and for larger gatherings we can arrange for the service to connect with Boyd or Renowden next door. A private cremation or graveside burial can follow within the same grounds.

The Atrium sits at the heart of the chapel building, between Boyd and Renowden Chapels. Come in from Princes Highway and follow the blue line painted on the cemetery's internal roads — it leads straight to the chapels. Free parking is available beside the reception building and directly across from the chapels, and our team will be there to greet your guests and show them the way.
For larger gatherings, The Atrium's service can be connected with Boyd or Renowden Chapel next door, with sound and vision carrying through. This needs to be arranged with the cemetery ahead of time — so if your numbers might grow, tell us early and we'll have the extra space booked and ready, just in case.
