Springvale Botanical Cemetery
The space
One of Springvale Botanical Cemetery's twin garden chapels — 66 seats, skylights set into a dark timber ceiling, and a wall of glass onto a green courtyard of its own.
At a glance
Wilson is one of Springvale Botanical Cemetery's twin garden chapels — the mirror image of Blair, on the opposite side of the same building, with a green courtyard all of its own. The room has a quiet warmth: skylights set into a dark timber ceiling wash soft daylight over pale pews, while floor-to-ceiling glass brings the courtyard's ferns and palms alongside the service. It seats up to 66 guests for a funeral or memorial service, with a screen for photo and video tributes, microphones and live streaming built in, so anyone who can't travel can still be part of the day. A private cremation or graveside burial can follow within the same grounds, and the cemetery's function rooms are a short distance away for refreshments afterwards.
