The setting

A memorial park that doesn't feel like one

Bunurong was designed to change what a cemetery feels like, and it does. Native gardens, open lawn and quiet water gather around Lake Australis, with paths that shift with the seasons and artwork where you don't expect it. Families return long after the funeral — to walk, to sit by the water — and that everyday ease is what makes it a gentle place to say goodbye. It's also the park's great kindness on the day itself: the service, the committal and the cup of tea afterwards all happen here, a short walk apart, with no convoys between venues.

Choose a space

Six spaces, from 80 to 350 seats

Every space at Bunurong can be booked for a Candour farewell. Choose by the number of people you expect — and if you're not sure, we'll guide you.

Every space offers multimedia and live streaming, so family who can't travel can still be part of the day.

What it costs

A Simple funeral at Bunurong

Our most straightforward farewell, with clear published pricing. Each path starts from one package price — cemetery and statutory fees passed through at cost, never marked up.

With cremation

From $9,429 (chapel and cremation included)

After the service, the committal happens quietly and the cremation is carried out on site. If your family wishes to witness, a private viewing room can be arranged. We collect the ashes and return them to you when you're ready.

  • Our complete care, first call to farewell Included

With burial

Helpful to know

Questions families ask

Can everything really happen in one place?

Yes. The service, the cremation or burial, and refreshments afterwards can all take place within the park, a short walk apart. We coordinate every part of it — you simply arrive.

Do we need to choose between burial and cremation before we call?

No. Many families are still deciding when they first ring, and some are weighing what a loved one would have wanted. We'll talk both paths through with you — including the costs above — and nothing is locked in until you're ready.

If it helps to read first, our guide to cremation explains what's involved, step by step.

How do we choose the right space?

By numbers, mostly — each space above shows how many it seats, from 80 up to 350 in the combined space. If you're expecting somewhere in between, or you truly don't know how many will come, tell us your best guess and we'll recommend a space with room to spare.

Can we hold refreshments or a wake at Bunurong?

Yes. The park's function rooms sit near the reflection spaces and are catered on site, from simple catering with teas, coffees and food to share, through to fuller menus. We book and arrange this alongside the service if you'd like, and there's also a café within the grounds for small, informal gatherings.

Can family who can't travel watch the service?

Yes — every space at Bunurong offers live streaming, and we arrange it as part of the service. Family overseas or interstate receive a private link, and a recording can be kept afterwards. If the farewell includes a graveside service, we can arrange for that to be streamed too — additional costs apply for graveside streaming, and we'll confirm them with you first.
